On the first page, Sky, the artist and the main subject of the pages is photographed. This image takes up the entire page, making it the centre of visual interest, suggesting Sky is very important. It is striking and linked with the text.
She is in front of a black background wearing a black jacket which blend together, so the viewer's attention is drawn to her face a top, which have brighter colours than anywhere else on the page.
Sky's face is satisfying the male gaze through the use of make up to make her look more aesthetically pleasing and her expression, which is invitational; there is emphasis on her eyes and her head is slightly to one side, with a hint of a smile being shown. It projects a mischievous or mysterious mood, suggesting there may be some contact potential. This has the same effect as advertising's soft sell.
On the second page, the text is arranged in two columns, with very little negative space, the artist's name at the top-centre of the page to set the subject, and a pull quote in an emboldened larger font to tempt the reader to read the text. The page number is a the bottom-centre of the page, and the magazine website is in the bottom right corner of the page.
The black formal-looking text font gives the page a smart, serious appearance.
The language register of the magazine is formal, but the language register of the artist is obviously informal as it is speech.
